Horizontally flared falls are sanded overall red-purple and standards have a fine network of darker texture veins and muted buff bands. Styles are coral-peach. Bright red-orange beards add to the fun.

MAGIC MASQUERADE (Paul Black 2008) TB , 44" LV There are many tantalizing mysteries waiting to be unveiled as you gaze upon Magic Masquerade. Ruffled and laced standards are pale slate-violet with 1/3” tan bands. Styles are the same with lacy tan crests. Heavily ruffled falls are rich, velvety, dark wine with white spray patterning surrounding muted gold beards. Heavily laced edges often have little white hooks along the edges of the lace. They are a very interesting adornment. Fall reverses are every bit as pretty as the tops. Green sunbursts turn to golden-yellow, to white and then to wine. Tall, well-branched stalks have 8-9 buds. Growth is strong and vigorous. Bred to plicatas, it is giving some exotic colors and patterns. Lateness of bloom helps ensure it will make it past those late frosts.
MAN'S BEST FRIEND (Paul Black 2008) IB , 25" ML Man’s Best Friend is a constant companion that is always there and always ready to please. This introduction is one of the best performers in the garden. A clump of Man’s Best Friend is filled with flowers. Because of spacing and bloom sequence, it never appears crowded. Light slate violet standards have brassy gold midribs and texture veins shot upward. Strongly flared falls are rich medium red-brown with darker texture veins and are narrowly banded slate violet. Short butter rays surround bright yellow beards that terminate in white darts. It has great eye-appeal and is a must have.
ORANGE KING (Schreiner 2008) TB 40" M Deep orange-amber hue uniformly saturates the standards, falls and hafts, tangerine beards, scalloped and serrated petals.
