The West Texas Iris Society, an affiliate of American Iris Society, is one of 14 Iris Societies within Region 17 (which includes all of Texas). The Society is also affiliated with the Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. It is a Section501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Society’s mission encourages interest in the propagation and growing of Iris families.

All guests are welcome to join the Society. The Society’s annual dues are $10

The Society hosts a Spring Iris Show every year. Anyone can enter, and it is free to simply look at the gorgeous blooms. On the last Saturday in September, the Society hosts an Iris Sale. This sale is open to the public at the Greenlife Nursery at 1312 N. New Road. The Society and Spring Iris Show are supported by the sale proceeds. Members donate the irises.

September marks the start of the Society year. Each qualifying member receives a free iris hybridizer from a top hybridizer. Then follows an open iris auction that is open to all.
